Woke up bright and early (far too early if you ask me) this morning and checked my email. Ooo a new message from Peace Corps :) My application status had been updated. The medical nurse didn't lie to me, YAY! My medical review is complete and my toolkit said that I would be getting a letter sent to me. I hope this means that it will just tell me I am medically cleared and they will give me information about what is up next. I don't think many people realize how long this process is. I keep getting questions about did you hear yet, where are you going? when this/ what about that.... I wish I had more information for everyone, but I do appreciate the interest and support.
Whatever comes ::phew:: a few relaxing days and a sigh of relief that I am getting my medical clearance!
AHH! I am so excited and happy about this, I can't even begin to explain. I really was worried about this step of the process because of my pre-existing condition and other mishaps; but, I guess being organized and overally anal helped me in this instance. Relax Relax Relax.... breathe! Now on to legal review :)
I'm about to begin my final semester at college. Where did the time go? I can already feel the nostalgia and emotion behind this building up. I look back at the past three and a half years and realize how much I have changed, and learned... and grown. I'm not even sure if some people from high school would even recognize who I am now to what I was then. But then, I don't think I have really changed, I have moreso just realized things and transformed. Rock on.
Bring it 2011, you will be a year of many many changes; but I'm bracing myself for what you'll bring
I'm ready for ya'.

A shining light!
It's funny, actually going along the path that you set up for yourself. Did I ever really think that this day would happen? That I would be in the midst of the beginning of the future...
I started my application for the Peace Corps knowing two things 1) I wanted to do this 2) I'm clueless as to what will happen if this doesn't actually happen.... I'm about midway through the review process right now, and still feeling the same way. Although this would normally freak myself into an anxious state... I've somewhat come to peace with it. Apart of me knows that life will work itself out one way or another, and so far it's going the way I've hoped it would.
I talked to the nurse in OMS who was reviewing my file today and it sounds like my persistence and organization paid off, she will clear me. Now, don't get me wrong I have heard that before but I am keeping my cool and will try to resist the urge to check my yahoo account every five minutes to see if there is a change in my application. I think instead, I will enjoy the upcoming New Year celebrations and hanging out with family. I can already tell that 2011 is going to be a huge change; not only for me but for many of my loved ones as well.
